Vacation Shopping

Observations from my 2 trips to Florida in January and February....people are still shopping and still eating out! And still taking vacations. We may just not be doing it to excess as we have over the past ten years. We are having to learn to live within our means--which means paying cash and not living on credit. We ate out often on vacation, and most restaurants had lines to be seated. Maybe we were choosing the most popular restaurants, but they were all busy. Shopping is my favorite activity, and the prices today are phenomenal. We all still need to shop-I needed a new bathing suit since the last one was purchased 3-4 years ago. The sales price was so good--I purchased 2 suits.

So don't let the media doom and gloom get you down. We can eat out, just less often and perhaps in places we can better afford. We can shop, purchasing things we need, not wild extravangances. And we can take vacations...maybe not to exotic locales. Florida works just as nicely. Just remember--all things come to an end and the economy will rebound.
